Cwmorthin

A warm welcome to Cwmorthin class.

We are a class of learners between 11 and 16 years old and follow an experimental path curriculum touching on elements of the investigation path curriculum. Here in Cwmorthin class the aim is to create a happy and safe learning environment which encourages the learners to be independent and curious. Developing communication skills is very important in our class in order to support the learners to develop into confident and independent communicators in the future. We have a variety of learning opportunities in the classroom including daily target sessions, a session in the hydro pool, rebound therapy sessions, forest school as well as use of the various sensible rooms in the school. We are also very lucky to be able to enjoy noise and movement and art sessions from the arts teacher at the school. Some of our favourite activities to enjoy as a class are sensory story, bucket therapy and sensory. In Cwmorthin class we enjoy finishing our week with a class cafe session every Friday where the learners have the opportunity to prepare their own snack and enjoy time with their peers.
